Your book is written but you want feedback on the big picture: Does the story work? What do you need more or less of? I will read it, write a detailed “editorial diagnosis” outlining my suggestions, and offer a follow-up phone conversation (in-person meeting when possible).

Copyedit (with bonus “line” edits)

 
 

Most clients fall into this category. Your book needs basic edits: grammar, spelling, punctuation, the usual suspects. I’ll also insert “line edits” that make the sentences flow and the language sound better.

Per 200-page book: ~ $800-$1600 (@$50/hour)

Proofread

Your book has been edited and everyone you know—including your old high school English teacher—has checked it for errors. But wait! You need a professional eye for one final check, which includes ensuring your book follows the guidelines publishers and readers expect: the Chicago Manual of Style.

Per 200-page book ~ $600-$1000 (@$40/hour)
